Good news! Atlantic Fellows Masters at London School of Economics and Political Science is currently open. The London School of Economics and Political Science offers the Atlantic Fellows Masters for Social and Economic Equity program in the 2021/22 academic year.

Atlantic Fellows Masters at London School of Economics and Political Science is a fully-covered fellowship based at the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science. It is one of seven interconnected Atlantic Fellowships nationwide.

Competent candidates are anticipated to be audacious and prepared to challenge power; see the bigger picture of how inequalities are playing out; are imaginative and daring in the way they envision solutions; who bring care and teamwork into their practice; identify the significance of the lived experience of inequality, and whose lived experience informs their practice; who focus on not progressing their careers but on their obligation to changing the world through joint and combined methods.

Benefits of Atlantic Fellows Masters at London School of Economics and Political Science

  • The Residential track of the London School of Economics and Political Science is a funded fellowship. The fellowship comprises of complete tuition fees, an £18,000 allowance to finance living expenses while in London, travel to and from Cape Town for the South Africa module, and travel to and from London at the start and end of the active fellowship, as well as reimbursement of visa fees.
  • Modest financial support is accessible for Fellows who have family care responsibilities.

Similarly,

  • The Non-Residential Track of the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity program is a financed fellowship. The fellowship comprises of complete tuition fees; a £3,000 grant to support project work; devoted mentorship; travel to and from London/Cape Town for each Module; housing and related expenses during Modules; and reimbursement of visa fees.
  • Modest monetary support is accessible for Fellows who have family care responsibilities. The program also has a Resilience Fund to which Fellows can apply in the event of emergencies.

Eligibility for Atlantic Fellows Masters at London School of Economics and Political Science

Candidates to the Atlantic Fellows Masters at London School of Economics and Political Science must be able to show their ability to fulfill the eligibility criteria.

RESIDENTIAL FELLOWS

  • Candidates should be eligible for admission to the London School of Economics’ MSc in Inequalities and Social Science. These requirements include a 2:1 degree or equivalent in any field. A background in social science and/or work experience in the social policy field is helpful but not important. Please refer to the LSE website for complete information.
  • GRE/GMAT requirement: None.
  • Candidates must fulfil LSE’s standard English Language Requirement.
  • Candidates must have 7 to 10 years of experience showing courage, care, leadership and commitment in progressing equitable solutions to inequality.

Note: Candidates who have accomplished a PhD, accomplished an MSc within the past three years, or who are presently studying for a degree, will not typically be deliberated for the Residential track.

NON-RESIDENTIAL FELLOWS

  • Candidates should have accomplished a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equal in any field, although in special circumstances, work experience may be considered in lieu of formal higher education qualification.
  • GRE/GMAT requirement: None.
  • Candidates must fulfill LSE’s standard English Language Requirement.
  • Applicants need to have 7 to 10 years of experience demonstrating courage, care, leadership and dedication to advancing equitable solutions to inequality.
